"Villa Almerico Capra" (La Rotonda), Andrea Pallad "Villa Almerico Capra" (La Rotonda), Andrea Palladio, 1567 – 1605
Vicenza

An Italian villa at the top of a hill with an elegant façade that looks like a classical temple: La Rotonda by Palladio.

Actually, the façade is not one. Palladio did something unique creating a completely symmetrical building having a square plan with four facades, each of which has a projecting portico with a pediment supported by six Ionic columns and statues of classical deities. We can appreciate the design from the floor plan which helps also to understand the need of a central element to connect with harmony the corners and that makes the building visually lighter and taller from the outside: a round dome.

And the suprises are not over, don't miss the new video:

"Laocoon and his Sons", between 1st century BC and "Laocoon and his Sons", between 1st century BC and 1st century AD, marble, 2 m (6 ft 7 in) in height,
Vatican Musuems, Rome, Italy

This ancient masterpiece inspired many Renaissance artists, among them: Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci.
Yes, maybe you could think it’s a Renaissance sculpture, but actually it’s a really ancient masterpiece, probably a Roman marble copy from a Greek Hellenistic bronze commissioned for the home of a wealthy family between the 1 century BC and the first century AD.

The statue depicts the Trojan priest Laocoön and his sons Antiphantes and Thymbraeus being attacked by sea serpents.

Bow carving Amor, Parmigianino, circa 1533–1535, Bow carving Amor, Parmigianino, circa 1533–1535, Oil on panel, 135 × 65.3 cm (53 × 25.7 in),
🏛 Kunsthistorisches Museum

his painting is considered one of the Parmigianino's greatest works, and it is easy to see why. The painting is a stunning portrayal of a chubby little cherub, with his left foot resting on a bow and holding an arrow in his right hand.

One of the most remarkable features of Bow Carving Amor is its incredible level of detail. Parmigianino was known for his attention to detail, and this painting is a perfect example of his skill. The cherub's hair and wings are rendered with incredible precision, and even the texture of the bow is visible.
